If you family knew what horrible thoughts you have would they still be with you?

This is the question that goes through my mind everyday.

I could never tell my wife my thoughts about my children she would never forgive me.

Yes, mine know, and they love me al the same! I was afraid too but the cross was too much for me to bear at one stage and I spilled the beans. Not one person who knows, family, friends and partner have ever turned their back on me, they just tried to understand and be there for me. Your wife knows u better than u think, I bet if u told her she would not think that u were capable of any of your worries xx

You're not giving your wife much credit. I kept my thoughts a secret for forty years. When I finally put them to words, no one turned their backs on me.

They're only thoughts. Don't attribute importance to them. Anyway, there's no obligation to share every thought you have. If people did, life would be untenable. And your concern smacks of the guilt that OCD produces - the same ruminative path that leads some sufferers to confess (a ritual). Let the thoughts be there, accept them - and move on.
