I find myself going round in the house verbally telling the thoughts to go away your not real, I don't want you in my head ,you've been here long enough etc etc Feel like I'm going nuts Link to comment
PolarBear Posted June 27, 2017 Share Posted June 27, 2017 That means you are reacting to the thoughts, which is what causes them to come back. You have to move on from doing that. Instead, try doing nothing about the thoughts. Link to comment
va2998 Posted June 28, 2017 Share Posted June 28, 2017 Hi there, instead of telling the thoughts (I don't want you in my head, you've been here long enough) just accept the thoughts and something helpful someone mentioned on here was when an intrusive thought or image pops up, just tell yourself "okay" and go back to what you were doing or move your mind onto positive thoughts or images(think of all the things that makes you happy). It is definitely easier said than done but as time goes on, this will become easier for you. Hope this helps, take care! Link to comment
