Hello,

I hope I 'm not intruding but I have suffered from OCD for several years and was finally diagnosed officially a year ago. I've been having therapy for a year now and am starting to feel better. My therapist suggested this forum to me and so I thought I'd say hello. My particular terror is dirt being contaminated I spend lots of quality time everyday trying to avoid it whenever possible but it's nice to know it's not just me on my own anymore feeling stupid because of the things I can't stop myself from doing. So pleased to meet you all.

Cheerio,

A.M.

Hi Angelmeadow.

Plenty of people have similar fears to you.

How nice that your therapist recommended our forums :)

Beating OCD involves undertaking a journey of listening learning and changing behaviour. The good ship OCD-UK is a great one on which to be a passenger during that voyage of discovery and change

Hello welcome to the forum.

I know many of us have had a lot of help on here (myself included) over the years. Glad your feeling better thanks to your therapy. Nice to hear these forums recommended.

Hi Angelmeadow and welcome to the forum.

That’s great news that you’re in therapy and that you’re feeling better.

You’ll find lots of support and help here if you need it. It’s been a godsend for me and many others and everyone here is so lovely and there’s so much knowledge here to help us to recover.

Good luck with your therapy. X
