Ashley
Sorry that you feel CBT does not work for you, and I can't say it will work for you, but I have seen people say the exact same thing to me before, but when we help them get to a specialist they immediately notice a difference in the quality of CBT they experience. But as a charity we can and will only recommend CBT, right now it's the best treatment we have, but we also know that it needs to be done right by a therapist with experience in treating OCD so it is worth finding out if your new therapist is knowledgeable (not just in OCD) but in treating OCD. The questions this therapist ask you do sound odd, you are right. Did you ask why they were asking such questions? There may be a valid reason (although I cant think of one right now). If you have only had one session I would suggest at least one more. The problem is if you stop going, they may take that as you rejecting treatment when it fact you're rejecting the individual therapist. You could ask to be passed to another therapist if you really feel uncomfortable with this one after another session? Link to comment
