Cub
Hey y'all, Happy Christmas! So, um. Just a super-duper quick one as am enjoying a Christmas Day lie-in. I'm with family but was feeling a little emotional last night, not for any particular reason but just because, I guess. Going to clock off in a mo and enjoy Christmas Day. I just realised that while the therapy's helped enormously, I'm still pushing myself a bit too hard mentally, trying too hard to enjoy/do things I'm not in the mood for. It feels like a personal compulsion. So now I'm refocusing on something else. I'm just trying too hard to grasp things that are out of my reach, seeking certainty and that's not a good mindset, is it? Nope nope. Time to slow down and self-care. Happy Christmas! taurean
Hi Cub.Enjoy the day . Yes, overtrying is like overthinking - a compulsion Yes, be kind to yourself and accept there will be days when you aren't wanting to do /in the mood for things. If you have to do them - work for example - then you can just rise to the occasion, put on an act. I needed to do that a few times when I was working. Link to comment
