PolarBear
You can get your happiness and life back, if you know what to do, work hard and be tough on yourself. Link to comment
St Mike
Of course OCD can destroy your life and happiness, if only you allow it to do so. Link to comment
taurean
There is so so much we sufferers can do to uncloak OCD, strip away the restrictions it has placed on us, stop believing what OCD tells us and stop carrying out compulsions. And we can start to do this when we commit to making it happen. By believing others not the OCD By using CBT with a therapist or self-help CBT. By working the necessary homework, carrying out the necessary exposures. No great intellect is needed. Just willpower and determination. We cannot claw back what OCD has previously taken from us; we have to learn to accept that and move on. But we can rebuild our lives and make our present, and our future, happier and healthier.
