Sputnik
Hello, I just wanted to share something that I have found useful in the past (in life in general as well as with OCD), which is a book called The Pocket Pema Chödrön. It's a 'treasury of 108 short selections from the best-selling books of Pema Chödrön, the beloved Buddhist nun.' ~from the blurb. I find her teachings to be very engaging and understandable, and can be useful whether you are Buddhist or not. I picked out a few sections which I feel resonate particularly with OCD (even though she's speaking generally about fear etc, I think they make a lot of sense regarding OCD as well) I particularly like the 'How to defeat fear' story. Feels like a really good metaphor for overcoming OCD! 'But if you don't do what I say, I have no power.' Anyway, I hope this may be of help to someone and I highly recommend the book! Link to comment
leif
Thanks @Sputnik I love Pema Chodron's teachings and find them amazingly applicable to my OCD journey. She's got lots of talks on youtube too which I enjoy listening to. Link to comment
