Do you do this?

Does anybody spend much time thinking about how their life could have been without mental illness? I do a lot but also appreciate how unhelpful it is!

I suppose I’m a bit regretful in the fact that I’m aging a bit now,I wish I’d put more effort into life when I was in the fun years.

That’s a very good question that I’m unsure of the answer.

So why not grab a pen and paper and get thinking?

It’s your major theme: regret. Retrospective counterfactual thinking serves no purpose unless you learn from this thinking obsession. I assume your retrospective counterfactuals paint a past where things were glorious. You could envision an alternative past where things were terrible. So by comparison your present life is great.

Also the last comment is a good idea. Decide what you want to do with your remaining years. Devise a plan and do it.

Hi Bruces You keep shuffling your themes. Regret, existentialism and the purpose of life. You shuffle, topic switch, every time somebody asks the question:  What you are you going to do? Why does this happen?
