vivi_x
Does anyone know how to go about getting an official diagnosis, it’s always brought up by people ‘oh do you have a diagnosis’ but I wouldn’t even know where to start and what professional to talk to, all I’ve had is a gp think that it’s the case probably silly question but oh well vi Link to comment
Gemma7
It's not a silly question As far as I'm aware a gp, therapist or psychiatrist can diagnose someone as having OCD. Link to comment
BelAnna
Hi vivi, GPs, Psychiatrists and Psychologists can diagnose OCD. Your GP may have diagnosed the condition without mentioning it, if you have spoken about it in the past. You could ask your GP for your medical records to see if it is on there or you could just ask whether they have officially diagnosed OCD or whether you can be referred to a Psychiatrist/the CMHT for an assessment.
