The “type” of OCD you have, or rather the current OCD obsession you have doesn’t have any bearing on medication. There isn’t one drug that’s better for contamination OCD and a different one that’s better for relationship OCD, because they are the same thing, OCD. The most effective and most commonly prescribed drugs for treating OCD are the SSRI group of drugs, of which Sertraline is one. Whether or not a particular SSRI will be effective for you or not can only be learned through trial and error. What works well for one person might not for another, what has lots of side effects for one person might have few to none for another. Finding the right drug and dosage level is just something you have to try if medication is a tool you want to make use of.
