MrsOCDWales
Does anyone else 'catastrophise'? I'm 34 and had OCD all of my life, but I've only just heard of this term. I'm a very glass half-full person when it comes to everyone else, but if there's anything that could possibly go wrong for me my brain seems to turn it into a worst case scenario... even if there's a 0.000001% chance it might actually happen! The intrusive thoughts go over and over in my brain imagining lots of 'worst case scenarios' that I know are very unlikely. The last few months during lockdown this seems to have got worse - I've been furloughed so perhaps I have to much time to think haha I just wondered if anyone else got this, and how you cope? Thanks Link to comment
angels
Ocd is an anxiety disorder that makes mountains out of mole hills where are thoughts are concerned. Thats what catastrophising is all about eg ive left the stove on the house will burn down or i made a mistake at work i will lose my job etc. No in between straight to worst case scenario, plus being off work and out of routine gives us to much time to over think and worry all ocd Link to comment
