benedictsoup
Hello! I’ve asked this question before but its been more of a problem recently. How do you learn to deal with triggers? Sometimes my triggers can cause me to go into an episode for weeks and its really really difficult to get out of the rut. I told my mom about my OCD recently and while she reacted well I’m still constantly worried that she thinks I’ll lose control. I don’t exactly know how to deal with that either. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you! Link to comment
Gemma@OCDUK
Hi Benedictsoup, Dealing with triggers is really a question of applying what we've learnt in CBT. Have you had any therapy up till this point? In terms of how best to deal with your mum's worry, I would recommend that alongside you she learns what she can about OCD and how to challenge it. It will also help her to understand what triggers are and how best to deal with them Gemma Link to comment
