northpaul
Hello friends, a good Friday night story. Twice this week I have had to go out to do some routine tasks. Typically these tasks would have caused doubt and compulsion to check things over and over. I remembered what I had learned in therapy - checking perpetuates checking and and raises the anxiety. So I pushed myself, got ready, locked up and set off. Yes, there was some anxiety but this soon reduced as I concentrated on the task ahead. I am also learning that is is important to recognise these positive steps as small victories over OCD. My friend is coming in the morning to take me shopping. I am going to put some goodies on my shopping list to reward myself. Link to comment

Saffron37
That's super awesome Northpaul! I agree that celebrating victories is so important--what may seem small from the outside is really not so small at all. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Link to comment
