  1. Thanks. I have not tried therapy or cbt, so I have no knowledge about that technique, although I do believe that giving too much attention to your negative thoughts does not sound very helpful and You are right, my idea was indeed inspired from meditation, I read about this technique which was shared by guy who is pretty good at meditation and psychology and he also mentions mindfulness a lot. So this is definitely a similar practice.
  2. Become an observer, do not react, simply observe the terrible thoughts and go back to what you were doing, it's just your mind doing its thing, let it do it, it may sacre you but eventually you'll get detached to the thoughts. That's how I got rid of my intrusive thoughts which I was suffering from since last month.
  3. Good news, after trying this for about a little more than a week, the intrusive thoughts have totally vanished, I do not have any intrucive thoughts now, I was having them for like a month but they have come to an end, so those of you who actually want to get rid of them, I seriously recommended you to try this.
  4. Think about the good times you have had in life, more good times waits ahead and even better, you are a extremely strong willed person and this temporary obstacle cannot stop you.
  5. okay, so basically what you have to understand is that mind is there for thinking, you cannot stop your mind from thinking because that's what its job is and when we try to control our mind or thoughts it gets aggressive and fights back, we should not become enemies with our mind, instead we should be his friend. Here's what you need to do, when a thought comes into your mind, just understand that it is mind doing its own thing, you don't have to react to anything it does, you just have to observe it, for example a really bad thought comes to your mind, you simply observe it, do not react or hate it, just observe and go back to what you were doing, now I know there are thoughts that can terify you or scare you but that's not a problem, just observe it let it make you feel whatever it does or doesn't and then just go back, eventually your psychology state of mind will change, when you suffer from ocd you feel like a victim, like you're being tortured by a though over and over again, but why are you getting tortured? Because you're trying to control it and you're trying to fight it and you are losing to it over and over again and hence you feel like a victim, if you stop fighting it and just accept that fact that it's a thought of your mind and that it doesn't need to be controlled you'll eventually become detached from it, because now you are simply observing it and it is nothing but a background noise, it isn't even yours, it's just your mind doing something, you are marely a spectator, do this and you'll start getting detached from it. Because the war is over, there is nothing to fix, there is nothing wrong. Say this everytime you feel like struggling 'there's nothing wrong' I promise you this will greatly help you with your intrusive thoughts.
  6. Yeah I've been having these thoughts and images in my mind and they are absolutely terrible, the best way to deal with them is by no fighting back, the more you fight back or react to it, the more you will get strangled by the ocd. Going out and running really helps in ocd so do that as often as possible.
  7. I would also like to add that running is extremely helpful against ocd, I can't tell you enough how powerful it is. Just do some intesne running and see the results. I did it today and it totally changed my feelings. it helps focus on your body rather than mind which is the key to detach from your mind.
  8. I was looking for something helpful on the internet and found this in particular to be very helpful for ocd and anxiety. And appearetly it also cures diseases and other problems and it is very easy to do. https://youtu.be/6dQETxUthkc
  9. Thanks for the support and advice guys, It has came down a lot now and I feel much better, the ritual I was doing I was trying to stop my breath as the thoughts try to come in, which was making it worse, deep breathing helped a lot. hopefully it will keep going down
  10. So for the last 5 days I've been having terrible intrusive thoughts about people that I love being hurt, the images keep popping in my head all the time, how do I stop it, please help.
  11. Forever about him, when dealing with people like this, you should either punch them in the face because not fighting back encourages their behaviour or you can ignore him if you don't want to get physical, which I understand. Most importantly don't let it affect you, you deserve better and should not let people like them run it for you.
  12. I'm randomly having thoughts of my family members getting hurt and stuff like that, it is really annoying and is scarring me. How do I make this stop?
  13. You did the right thing, she sounds really ignorant and lacks the empathy to understand others problem.
