  1. Hey Nikki, I can't really offer any advice but you are not on your own with this. My current "theme" is entirely different to yours but so much of how you describe your intrusive thoughts, feelings, reactions resonates with me that I could have written it myself just with a different worry. Take care
  2. Go for it with the therapy and ask about the medication, you deserve to get better. I saw a post early on in the pandemic where someone with OCD posted how she had had the realisation that all her contamination behaviours pre pandemic had not actually been needed. So completely turning on its head the idea that Covid normalises these rituals and safety behaviours. I probably haven't explained it very well but I hope it's helpful. For me I am hoping everyone keeps up the increased handwashing and cleaning etc post pandemic ? ?
  3. I thought it was deeply unhelpful. Fair enough reiterate the message about washing / sanitising hands but not helpful to mention specifics!
  4. The thing he said about things other people have touched? Yeah I heard that. Such a difficult time.
  5. Hi all I'm just curious as to whether this is of relevance for OCD sufferers? Thoughts welcome!
  6. Hi GreyhoundMum Sounds like a tough time for you. Do you think you're in a position to get some more treatment? How have you found Covid? I know it's affected people in different ways. Was your previous treatment successful? Take care
  7. My first therapist used to say to me who are "they"? Because I always used to see "but they say....." And they for me would invariably be an article I've read online. This particular article is maddening because it's not the official line and if I remember rightly doesn't match the official line. For me it's OCD if it's causing me anxiety. My mum does some of these things but it causes her no anxiety.
  8. ? I read this I wish I hadn't. It's a rehash of an article they posted back in March I think. What didn't help me is most of the people I was talking to at that time were doing this. Who are they though? It's not the WHO, NHS or public health England...
