Guest Mrsobsessive
Hi to you all, I've been browsing this site for quite some time but I've never had the courage to face up to ocd and get help, well now I've had enough when it was either take my life or do something about it.. I've told my gp and I will soon be contacting my local mental health services and I'm going to beat this and hope I can talk to some of u and we can help one another. This has been part of me for years and I feel like a weight has been lifted for taking this step. Thanks for listening x Link to comment

Guest Mrsobsessive
Thank you, I will, I definitely need to teach myself to deal with this in the ways that will actually help me, ie. by not acting out compulsions, I hope that with cbt it will give me that push to do so x Link to comment

legalseagull
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing. I had it on the NHS as well as CBT a few years ago. It's meant to help you come to terms with something painful and get your brain to start processing it in a healthy way. Link to comment
whitebeam
Fantastic that you are seeking help. There is a lot of help available. It may take some time to find the right help - but persevere. I had to try a few different meds before one was found that was right for me. I'm now virtually OCD-free. Link to comment

Guest Jon Foe
Hi,Y'all. This is the first time I try to link with other people with the Almighty OCD!I say "Almighty" because that is what the disorder feels like sometimes, the BE ALL and END ALL.In one instant, however,it can also become an IDEA only, which can be shaped and designed by your very own mind.In the present moment, all ideas of yourself cease to exist. The Ego shatters and we are brought back {once again} to our original state and the silence of the mind.I am far from this state presently and am wondering if anybody else can see the connection between OCD and "Falling from Grace",or losing one's innocence,if you will.....Namaste.
