  1. Thanks both for your responses -they have been very helpful, as I now feel assured that my dog hasn't come into contact with sewage. I feel anxious generally when my dog paddles in dirty brook/pond/ water, but I am able to tell myself that a lot of other people let their dogs swim in rivers and all kinds and have no issues. I just struggled to believe, on this occassion, that there was no deadly germs in the water with it being so close to a sewage pumping station. Thanks again Drifter xx
  2. Hi all, I'm currently having a bit of a panic. In the fields near my house, where I walk my dog, there is a sewage pumping station. Behind this is a stream/brook flowing behind a tall hedge. Today my dog decided to ignore me and go running through a hole in the hedge. After disappearing for a few minutes, he came back out covered in water. Now I am worried that he may be covered in sewage. Does the sewage pumping station pump sewage into the stream/brook ? Would it have been possible to come into contact with any sewage? Help ??? 3. My partner of 6 years left me last week to be with somebody else. He couldn't cope with my OCD any longer. I am absolutely heartbroken and am struggling badly. I loved him more than anything and he was my best friend. Don't know what to do. Has anyone else experienced the loss of a partner/spouse due to their OCD? Thanks Drifter
  4. My partner accidentally punctured the back of the freezer with a sharp knife whilst he was defrosting it. He did it a few weeks ago, but only just told me (as he knew I'd freak out). I have always had an issue with my freezer as it is, always checking that the freezer door is closed in case food defrosts -so this is a nightmare. The freezer obviously still works, as my food has always come out frozen, but I'm worried by the fact that there is a small hole in the plastic casing at the very back of the freezer. What shall I do? Is my food still going to be safe? Has anyone had any experience with this? The freezer isn't very old either and was quite expensive Thanks Drifter X
  5. Aargh! I'm trying to sort out clothes to take to the charity shop. Would be a straight forward job if it wasn't for the pockets in the clothes!! Have I left something in them? Check, check, check!! One pair of trousers has 6 pockets... Drifter x
  6. Hi all, I bought a just cook pork steak and bubble and squeak meal at the weekend and had it for dinner today -but I'm worried because I noticed that the film lid had bulged a bit when I got it out the fridge (wasn't like that when I bought it). It was in date. I ate it despite worrying that the air inside could mean it's off, but now I'm worried that it might be and that I'm going to get food poisoning. Help Thanks Drifter X
  7. Hi Liberty, When I do my food shopping, I always put chicken and other meat in my trolley with all my other food. There is no other way of doing it. I also pack it in my shopping bags with other food and place the fresh meat in my fridge. Drifter x
  8. I have never had a problem with drinking, but do enjoy a few glasses of wine at the weekend, which I don't see as a problem. If you are drinking to self medicate, or to try and escape from your situation, then this is not healthy at all and is just going to make things worse. Believe it or believe it not, alcohol is considered to be one of the most harmful drugs there is. It damages your brain, liver and other parts of your body. Also, not meaning to worry you, but just because your liver is working normally now, it doesn't mean it will be tomorrow if you are consuming excessive amounts of alcohol.
  9. Lol! Don't you just hate that feeling when you notice a red sock going round with your whites in the washing machine!! Too late and no can do, lol! Drifty xx
  10. Thanks for the reply Caramoole If other people wash their underwear with the rest of the load at a normal temperature, I guess that's What I should do too. I find that after having had OCD for such a long time, I have got where I don't know what's a 'normal' thing to do and what's not. Xxxx
  11. Hi all, I'm just wondering if people here wash their underwear separate to their main washing? I have always washed them separate at a higher temperature, but I always end up with about 10 or so pairs of my small pants going round on an over 2 hour wash, lol. Seems a waste of a wash. Thanks Drifty xx
  12. I just remembered that one of the questions asked if I was on medication too, which I was able to answer 'no' to. It would be interesting to know if this made any difference, also. Drifty x
  13. Hi all and thanks for the replies Thank you for looking into this for me, Ashley. I went on a comparison site yesterday evening and did find that declaring a history of 'anxiety' (OCD wasn't an option in the drop down) didn't make any difference to the price, which I was so pleased about. I had to answer a few questions via the site after declaring anxiety, relating to depression, which didn't apply to me. I am not sure how much depression would affect someone's quote though?! Thanks xx
  14. Hi, I am going on holiday next month and am looking at travel insurance. I am wondering whether I should declare my history of OCD? Does everyone else declare it and does it massively affect the price? I don't want to end up in a situation where my policy is void just because I didn't mention OCD. My OCD doesn't really affect me much anymore and I haven't had any treatment for 10 years. Thanks Drifty xx
  15. I just nipped to the park with my dog and met up with a friend for an hour with her dogs. When I went back to my car in the car park, being a park, there were groups of children and parents all getting out of their cars. As I drove slowly past them to drive out, I had the awful thought: 'what if I accidently ran a child over', so I felt the need to drive slowly round again to check. I then had the same thought again, so off I go round again. I looked in my mirror and saw a couple of people staring at me. Feeling embarrassed I got out of my car and looked in my boot, before getting back in my car to drive round and out. I then looked in my mirror again and there were more people staring directly at me. I then parked up and got my dog out the car, so I didn't look like I was a suspicious person. So now I have the added worry that maybe I did look suspicious and they have now reported my car to the police. It was only a small car park and it was obvious they were all looking at me. why didn't I just get in my car and drive out in the first place like any normal person!!??? Help
