  1. I have styled my hair and put on some make up this morning ?
  2. ? this sounds though and thank you for sharing. In our home roles are reserved and I am the OCD sufferer, mainly contamination. I can't imagine how hard it must be to you. During lockdown I anti-baced parts our garden... I digress my husband watched one of the presentations for partners/friends/family members with OCD at the OCD UK conference last week and found it really helpful. I will pop the link in and look out for others coming up. She also has a book which I got for my husband to read. https://www.ocduk.org/conference/conference-map/family/helping-family-member-with-ocd/#video I would suggest read what you can to support her and check out the Covid resources on the main website. There are many reasons the therapy didn't work first time but it doesn't mean it never while. It must be exhausting for you too.
  3. Yesterday I got my hair cut and unpacked some online shopping orders
  4. My only bit of advice would be if you do speak to your brother, perhaps try and do so by phone as might be easier to communicate than by email, though not easy I appreciate that! Thinking of you
  5. She really did! Sandy's story is amazing so inspirational about claiming his life back. I recommend everyone watches it! Will have a look the getting help one too - I certainly need some! Thanks Ashley ?
  6. Perhaps you could show your parents some pages from the OCD UK website and the various support that could be available to help. Learning what you can (check out the books available from the OCD UK shop) will give you an understanding of the condition. I hope things improve for you all
  7. It sounds really tough. I can't offer much in the way of advice but reach out to the charity via the contact pages they have some support available for young people and parents. Try and learn what you can about OCD again check out the charity shop for recommended resources. My understanding is that your being strong against the OCD questions is the right thing to do, can't imagine that is easy. Take care of yourselves and I hope things improve soon
  8. Thanks Ashley, got a couple I couldn't make. It was so helpful and my husband really got a lot out of Lauren's presentation. Great job ?
  9. Some great sessions this afternoon and still time to sign up ?
  10. Just quickly check this out today / tomorrow, most recordings available later https://www.ocduk.org/conference/
  11. Brilliant! Thank you for this! These will be game changers for people I'm sure!
  12. Really looking forward to the conference ? Feeling slightly naive that when I came last year for the first time having recently started therapy I thought by now my OCD would be a distant memory ????
  13. I've just cooked a proper meal with meat for the first time in a long time ?
  14. Have you tried any of the online support groups the charity is hosting for some support and opportunity to talk to others with the condition? Could you try contacting an old friend you've lost touch with to meet up for a walk and take out coffee (or picnic), now is as good a time as any to re connect? Or an extended family member perhaps. Are there any local charities offering befriending services? Or turn it on its head and volunteer to support an older person with phone calls etc Do take care
  15. Thank you, will have a listen ??
